Challenge
This property needed to show off the estate’s beauty as well as provide safety to the multiple residents and visitors who venture around the grounds daily.
The remoteness of the location contributed to the biggest challenge. Without light pollution reaching the estate from the surrounding neighborhood, the property was completely enveloped in darkness. This made driving and even simply walking along the various paths hazardous.
The estate, sitting atop a hill, posed another difficulty. Specifically, to light the sloped driveway which varied in height, and to correctly light the multitude of different surface areas, would require some real talent and genius.
To support the success of this challenging project, Garden Light LED provided special expertise to assist Innovative Light Designs to execute the lighting design plan properly and efficiently.
Solutions
With our vast variety of versatile fixtures, and utilizing the unprecedented guidance and mentorship, executing the lighting design became possible. The design consisted mainly of accent light fixtures (Mini Well Lights, S1 Halo, X-light, Mini Deck, Mini Spotlight, etc.) to combat the darkness and give focus to the property’s beautiful features.
The driveway challenge was addressed by using different wattages to keep the light consistent as the retainer wall become shorter. The multiple surface areas were easily tackled with our accent fixtures that seamlessly blended into their surroundings. The selected lights performed admirably, detailing features at night while not distracting during the day. The lighting design also enhanced architectural features by lighting up the curves and silhouettes of the paths, landscapes, and the buildings themselves.
Results
The Marquez Estate was thrilled with the stunning lighting design that was accomplished. Both Steve and Luis were proud of what their design had achieved. It was so beautiful that Luis suggested Steve enter this Marquez Estate project into the AOLP national competition. Steve agreed and submitted the project. To everyone’s delight, he won two AOLP awards. The first win was for “Residential XL Lighting”. This qualified Steve to join another category of winners for a chance to win the prestigious, overall national “Award of Excellence”. And Steve won! Innovative Light Designs is now the 2022 overall winner in the whole country. Steve now promotes his award wins on his website and finds this to be a key tool in attracting customers. The Marquez Estate was so pleased with what had already been done to their grounds, they are looking to further develop the property with additional lights around their property fence and open field. Restaurant Colors Exterior Lighting
CULVER’S BRANDED LED OUTDOOR LIGHTING
As most franchisees and business owners know, brand colors are critical. They often stick the most in a customer’s mind when they associate the company name with its products or services. Culver’s started their color branding journey with its Florida locations: Hillsborough, Tampa, Riverview, Panama City, Destin, and Navarre.
Background

Culver’s, which opened its restaurant in 1984, is headquartered in Wisconsin and, as of June 2019, operates over 710 restaurants across 25 states, with 18 currently under construction. As new locations for this successful and tasty business model continue being opened around the Midwest and throughout the United States, franchisees want to ensure they harness the full benefits of attracting patrons to their amazing company location further to build upon their business success as the founders George and Ruth Culver did when they transitioned A&W location colors from orange and brown, to the now infamous white and blue associated with Culver’s restaurants which are taking the country by storm with their delicious ButterBurgers and Frozen Custards.

Challenge
As new locations are constructed for franchisee owners to start their business as a new Culver’s restaurant chain, they realize that great locations with high traffic areas are often set back off the main roads from passing patrons at high speeds to see and recognize their location as much as they had hoped. With that in mind, and other considerations on the table to ensure patrons would know about their restaurant and want to visit their locations more often than others on the same roads, they looked closer at improving their outdoor lighting design to enhance their presence and appeal.

Solution

The franchisee and lighting design company collected and reviewed many architectural lighting fixture options. They realized that the options for true specific color LED lights needed to be more powerful to see the light output from further distances off the restaurant location or would not provide adequate and reliable color lighting temperatures across every light being installed on their new well-planned design. Additionally, by utilizing Garden Light LED custom color led lighting fixtures, they could install a lighting fixture that would last a lifetime and provide a clean design to enhance their outdoor architecture during the day and at night.
Results
At last, the choice was made official when the franchise restaurant owner and lighting install company purchased the SSA stainless aluminum spotlights and well lights from Garden Light LED. These SSA silver-toned lighting product finishes offered their locations a modern, sleek look with anti-corrosive anodization, unlike anything the company has seen on the lighting market. While also giving the lighting designers the ability to add tighter narrow beam spreads to highlight the walls and columns of the buildings, alongside the power output of 75 watts equivalent, to ensure they shined bright and would be seen from far away to attract potential customers that may not have noticed them.
Tequesta Residence
Overview
This Tequesta, Florida waterfront home is the transformation of the old world analog to new world possibilities. BPS inc. relies on a Lutron powered drive system with Garden Light LED fixtures to help fulfill its innovative business goals and won the Lighting project of the year 2018 CES Award.
Challenge
The Tequesta project is a six-thousand square foot home located in South Florida. Big Picture Solutions, must tailor the project to the homeowners’ primary goals: to install excellent quality lights, to mirror the creation of an environment that is inviting; and to have a functional system that increases energy efficiency.
Solution
LED Dimming Driver, Hi-lume 1% EcoSystem / 3-Wire L3D, Architectural Dimming
The Lutron EcoSystem drivers with digital addressable technology allows Tequesta to expand its offerings. Now, homeowners will have control to adjust lighting in each zone of the house. The lights will promote tailored ambiance enhancements for any occasion.
The system accepts inputs from a variety of sensors. In addition, a key feature is, syncing. Also, in conjunction with Lutron’s HomeWorks QS whole system, the lights are automatically controlled via astronomical time-clock events for everyday use to set it and forget it.
Garden Light LED Integrated lighting technology is a turnkey system. Naturally, the dimming feature is a key aspect of the Lutron System. Homeowners can adjust the light temperature; as well as, turn the lights on and of whenever desired. Seven lighting zones (per this project) can be managed simultaneously or individually. The Fifty four landscape will have a diverse choice to make the appropriate adjustments for any occasion.
The project has a total of one-hundred-ninety-four Garden Light LED fixtures, equipped with State-of-the-Art LED Diodes – diodes are how the “magic” happens. The Diodes have a broad range of dimming options ranging from 0-10. This range is amazing with respects to lighting. The homeowners can set a moonlit type tone; but, can easily adjust to complement a high-energy event.
Results
The installed light control system provides peace of mind for the homeowners. The power output adjustments are paramount to the elimination of wasted energy. Lights being left on all night at full power, is no longer an issue. In addition, the system provides an interactive experience – want more light, perfect; want less light, done. The combinations of possibilities are endless.
Mandalay Beach Resort
Challenge
A luxury condo at Mandalay Beach Club in Clearwater Beach, FL is one of the most sought-after properties in the area. Located directly on the beach, this stunning development sits right next to the Pier and is only 100 yards away from the new Clearwater Beach walk. During the design process, Garden Light LED was quickly inspired by the Mandalay’s scenery and beautiful sunsets when they selected the Amber color temperature output for the majority of fixtures being installed. One key factor that GLLED needed to consider was keeping the lights from hitting the current resident’s windows. To avoid this issue, Garden Light LED went with 12- and 25-degree optic lenses.
Solutions
As for the fixtures for this project, GLLED went with a VA wattage of 5.4 and 10.5 using V2 directional Visionary Series Spotlight Fixtures. Due to the location of the resort, selecting Garden Light LED’s solid brass finish was a no-brainer because of the corrosion-free exterior, meaning the fixture can sustain the exposure to the hot Floridian climate and the Gulf of Mexico’s salty sea air throughout the upcoming years. Creating an outstanding lighting design that complements the architecture of the building and adds additional security for the homeowners was ideal for creating a three-dimensional lighting effect. Alongside other LED fixtures used in this project were Garden Light’s Owl Micro Max Series which assisted in helping to create a three-tiered lighting design. This design was applied throughout the pool area and clubhouse of the Mandalay, offering residents an attractive pathway throughout the facility, adding beauty to architecture and landscape all night.
Results
In conclusion, a total of 202 fixtures were installed to finish phase one of the Mandalay project. As for additional accessories to help complete this project, a series of drum connectors (corrosion free), were a necessary choice to use during the installation.
Homeowners are thrilled with their new landscape lighting that enhances the resort’s atmosphere and provides security.

Sabal Palm Plaza
Challenge
The new Sarasota office space at Sabal Palm Plaza is a four-story mixed-use building. The building features an exterior rain screen system that provides a textured wood panel aesthetic, along with glass and stucco finishes. For this project, the challenge is for the outdoor LED lights not to compete with the indoor LED lights inside the building. The property management company wanted to stand out amongst the other buildings located in the business district downtown of Sarasota; which led to their choice of Garden Light LED fixtures.
Solutions
When selecting fixtures for the landscape, GLLED chose their most cutting-edge technology, Visionary 3 Series Spotlight in Stainless CNC machined Aluminum-corrosion free. Secondly, they went with an 11-watt fixture with a 40-degree optic distributed by each palm tree and the side of the building. Alongside the statue just outside of the Sabal Palm, are Garden Light’s Mini Well High-Performance Lights in Stainless Aluminum 2 watt in the pairing of a 40-degree and a 25-degree optic lenses. Keeping in mind the challenge of indoor lighting competing against outdoor lighting, Garden Light LED selected their trustworthy Mini Well High-Performance Lights to be placed in planters in the corners of the building. The Super Saturn III Stainless Steel fixture was also strategically placed to highlight the peak of the Sabal Palm Plaza building. Enhancing this feature is the choice of 12-degree optic lens. Given that the space outside the Sabal Palm Building was not particularly large, the lighting was customized and designed to fit. Selected were 35 fixtures to light up this aesthetically pleasing building in downtown Sarasota, improving the environment and efficiencies.
Results
