Garden Light’s Water Tight Drum connector creates the best possible connection. Wire nuts are great for high voltage connections and are the industry standard. But when you get into low-voltage and high current applications in landscape lighting, a permanent gas tight connection is the most reliable method to use.
Gas-Tight Connection
A Gas tight connection is a connection that is so tight, that air is not present between the two joined wires. Unlike wire nuts, which are very loose in comparison, the crimped connection of the drum connector does not allow any corrosion to form between the conductors. This yields a permanent, resilient, long-term connection. This in addition to the Silicone Di-electric grease inside the drum connector makes this the only connection you will ever need to make.
